Intergroup meetings are now held on the third Tuesday evening of each month.  Any member of OA is welcome to join us during our regularly scheduled meetings.
​No commitment is necessary!

If your meeting does not have an Intergroup rep, please consider becoming an an active intergroup participant so you'll be in the loop on Intergroup activities and can get support, if you need it, for issues with your meeting.  Reach out to [email protected] for more information.

Southwestern Connecticut Purpose

It is the purpose of Southwestern Connecticut Intergroup to promote unity within the Intergroup, to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, to be aware of and serve the needs of member Groups and to carry the message of Overeaters Anonymous to the compulsive overeater who still suffers.  The Southwestern Connecticut Intergroup does this by:
  • Furthering the OA program in accordance with the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, and Twelve Concepts of OA.
  • Maintaining open communications within the Intergroup and all member groups.
  • Providing a format for selection of Intergroup Officer nominees.
  • Providing unity of Groups and organization of Groups within the Intergroup.
  • Conducting various recovery events that help further the aims of the Intergroup and member Groups.

Who can attend SWCTOA Intergroup Meetings
Any person who wants to stop eating compulsively is a member of OA.  Any member of OA is welcome at an Intergroup meetings as a guest.  Guests are encouraged to share their ideas and opinions but are not permitted to vote.  Voting members include:  one Representative from each meeting, the Intergroup Officers,  Committee Chairs,  Region 6 Representatives and World Service Business Conference Delegate.
